Pastor Adero is our most recent addition to the pastoral staff
"Adero" C E Allison began her ministry at the age of twelve, initially playing the piano for the children's Sunday school at Greater Christ Baptist Church in Detroit Michigan. Her involvement in the church grew as she matured, eventually encompassing her service as one of the first women on the Trustee Board and her position as Minister of Music. It was during this time that she experienced the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
In 1983, having moved from the city to live closer to work Cheryl (her given name) began learning to play chords with the worship team at Faith in God Downriver Christian Renewal Center in Wyandotte, Michigan.
Following the urging of the Spirit, her family moved to Medford Oregon in 1988. It was there at Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship that she found the discipleship she had been seeking. At Praise Chapel she developed her skills as a worship leader, preached her first sermon and discovered a heart for Latin America. In 1993 she went on her first ministry trip through Mexico and Guatemala.
The late 1990's brought her under the training of Dr. Peggy Logan, Pastor of House of Worship also in Medford. This ministry to ministers helped to deepen her understanding of the spiritual application of God's word in daily living.
In 1999 Cheryl chose to be called "Adero", a name she had been using for writing and email over the years. This name means "life giver" and serves to remind her daily of her responsibility to give life through her actions in ministry, in work and in personal relationships.
In 2001 Adero met the love of her life, Janne Cardwell. It was at this time that Adero first attended Salem Sweet Spirit MCC. Adero served as worship leader and lay minister at Sweet Spirit before God led her and Janne to move to Arizona.
Adero and Janne became members of Casa de Cristo Evangelical Church in 2005, shortly after their arrival in Phoenix. In late 2005 she was asked to lead the worship team at Casa. On September 24, 2006 Rev. Adero was ordained into the ministry under Pastor Ronnie Pigg at Casa de Cristo. One year later Pastor Adero became a member of the ministerial staff of Casa in November 2007. She continues to serve at Casa while developing a network for ministries linked by the word and the Internet. Covenant Ministries: Semilla de Fe (Seed of Faith) touches the lives of pastors, straight and gay, who believe in the affirming word of God.
