People everywhere wait in different ways for the coming of the new year. In the United States the New Year's Eve party is presented as a wild event with loud music and free flowing alcohol. Even our television programs show parties from New York to LA with major entertainers celebrating the turn of the year.
As a child I attended the Watch Night service at my church. The service typically began around 9 or 10pm and included worship, singing and prayer as we waited until midnight for the new year to begin.
This year we have decided to suggest a Stay at Home Watch Night Service. One reason for this is to allow our members to celebrate without having to be on the streets with the many drivers who have had too much. The purpose of the Watch Night service is to begin the New Year with God! If we begin with good focus the year can only get better.
To assist you in planning a Watch Night Celebration with your family we have created an idea page. Whether you decide to celebrate with your household or to invite friends and family to join you we hope these ideas will help you have an excellent celebration.
Download the Stay At Home Watch Night Service and have a Safe and Blessed New Year!
